Hi Everyone, I thought I would introduce my self. My name is John McIntyre and I live in Broken Hill. My user name is jonmac, I've looked at some of the nicknames people use as usernames, but I thought it would be easier to use a bit from the christian and a bit from the surname. However, I was given a Forty Plus a few years ago and only just starting to get a real interest in all types of vintage outboards. I started the motor last weekend, it hadn't been started for quite a while, but after a good cleanup and some new fuel, away it went. It didn't pump water very well so I stopped it and then went to the internet to find out why. Every item I read spoke about taking the prop off when its in a tank. A colleague by the name of Cobbadog from the Vintage Mowers forums, and this one, also suggested I remove the prop. Anyhow after having it started, I've stripped it down, getting the tubes rechromed and a new paint job. Will send pics when completed. . . jonmac Attachments:
