Hi, I just had a quick look through the pages and haven't seen this subject as yet, other than the quantity thread. The service manual mentions SAE140 for the gearbox. This is a bit tricky to get a hold of here in Oz so what is the next option. I have a CPCL that is about to go into a kind of regular use situation on the back of a dinghy. I have a good supply of SAE90 for the gearbox in the vintage tractor but not sure if this will do. Any suggestions welcomed. Cheers Cobba.

Thats all I use, I change every time I use my engine. If you leave it in a jar the water will separate from the oil and you can reuse oil if need be.

gearbox oil is easy to source in australia, just go to your local REPCO agent and they can get it for you

Thanks for your reply chris. I am finding that Repco are improving with their prices and service lately and I have been pleasantly surprised with some parts I have purchased through them. The SAE 140 should be here this week sometime so all is good.
