First there was an Ozzy with a BBQ on his boat, & we all thought that was a bit mad Now we've got a Pie Warmer on the Cup yacht!!!

A cunning plan to ensure NZ wins back the Americas Cup We offer Jimmy Spit & Larry Ellison NZ citizenship. Maybe sweeten the deal with a knighthood or some such. LOL Consider this; Oracle was built locally in NZ & Oracle team leader is Kiwi Russell Coutts & half of Oracles crew are actually drafted Kiwi sailors & back when the score was 8:1 Larry flew out a specially drafted crack team of naval architects & boatbuilders from Warkworth NZ to speed Oracle up, which gave them 5 in a row so Americas Cup has kinda become NZ's Cup, whichever team wins. LOL. Oracle could still win yet. We just need a Kiwi skipper on Oracle to complete the story. Jimmy Spit is actually an Ozzy. I hear there's only 1x real Yank crewing on Oracle

So a billionaire can buy the best of the best from around the world. Does this mean that no one else will be able to challenge for the cup in future? Sad. Don't tell Larry Ellison about seagull racing.

Perhaps the overall race didn't quite end as hoped however I think the overall event has produced a great result for little NZ. It has been a great promo for the excellence in our boat-building industry. Something to ponder for the future; If NZ built most of the future AC boats & kept leading the tech development & provided team bosses + skippers + crews then it would be like owning the casino house where various high rollers come to have some fun & blow their dough Sneak view inside Core Builders Composites workshop in Warkworth
