Thought i might post up some pics and a bit of info on my 2 seagulls. The one on the left is a 1963 Century, And the one on the right is a 70-71 40plus. I will start with the century. I got it as a complete runner that was in need of a service and some TLC. I had to clean out the Fuel tank and carb, Fitted a new throttle cable (The other was 2 Mtrs long and stretched)A new plug and Used a universal plug lead cap that i got from the mower shop for $7.00. I had to remove the cyl head and clean out the cooling system,I refitted it with stainless head bolts. I then pulled everything apart. Cleaned it and reassembled it all back toghether using antisieze. I have had the prop machined to 7.75"s witch has increased top end a bit and has taken out a lot of vibrations. Attachments:

I fitted a fuel filter from my local autoparts shop for $5.00 I can keep an eye on it and remove to blow out if need be. I also slid a length of fuel line over the carb end of the cable so it clears the flywheel. Attachments:

I cleaned and reused the original head gasket and smeared a bit of gasket goo on both ends for a perfect seal. The head bolts are now metric threads. Attachments:

The 40-plus was my uncles. He brought it from a seagull dealership in the valley in brisbane. He still has the crate that it came in but its being used as a herb garden and he wont give it to me. . I got it from him with no carb- cable -and throttle, But everything else was there. I picked up the needed parts from chris who is a member on this forum. Not much was needed to be done apart for a major service. He said he hardly used it and it sat out under the chook shed awning with a cover over it. Its a bit weathered, but it has 100psi worth of compression and its a solid little runner. Attachments:

One day i will strip this one down and push all the dents out of the tank, I will then recrome--polish and powdercat all the bits up to have it looking like new again, But at the moment i will just keep it as it is and use it and have some fun out on the water. Attachments:

nice work bullet thanks for posting those photos , is that a century prop you've cut down ? Sure is. The engineer had to make up a jig to mount the prop so they could machine it down a perfect circle. Definatly made a difference.
